Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Camp/Workshop?
All camps and workshops begin and end at my home studio located at 704 Fern Place, NW Washington DC 20012. It is near Walter Reed Army Medical Center and about 5 blocks from the Takoma Metro Station.
So this is at your house?
Yes, I have a studio that is behind
my house and a classroom space in the house that has a separate
entrance. There is a fenced-in yard with a garden that is used for workshops/camp as well.
What kind of camera does my child need?
Your child will need a camera that is capable of shooting in manual mode. If your camera has a dial on it that has small letters (M,P,S,A) or pictures (running man, flower) then it may be used. The camera must be digital because I will be processing the images daily. If you do not have a camera I have several that your child can use. I am happy to offer advice on choosing a camera if you wish to purchase one.
What if we do not have a digital camera?
I have several cameras that are available for student use.
How many Adults will there be?
I maintain a 1 to 4 (or 5) ratio of kids to adults.
Are there any additional costs?
There are no additional fees. The cost of metro fare, journals, printing of photographs and supplies is included in the cost of the workshop.
Who do I make the check out to?
The camp is affiliated with my studio, so please make the check out to emily deisroth photography or Emily Deisroth.
Do I need to pay in full or do I pay a deposit first?
A $150 deposit per session is required to hold your space. Payment in full is due by June 1. Please consider paying in full upon registration to help us reduce paper and energy used.
What if I have to cancel?
If you must cancel you forfeit the $150 deposit. You may however credit that deposit to another session if there is space in that session.
Do you offer before or after care?
Please contact me and we can discuss your needs.
Please feel free to email or call with any other questions that you may have.
